Ensuring Compliance
In order to remain compliant with board requirements there are a few things to remember when it comes to your presentations and marketing your event to ensure your event is free from commercial bias.
1. Presenters should not advertise any products for which they receive commercial support or compensation.
Presenters are welcome to cite their own books or research as they are relevant resources or references pertaining to the session content, but should not promote or advertise their products as part of sales. For example presenters or organizations should not offer coupon codes for products or include sales pitches in their presentation slide deck. Presentation slide decks should not include images or pictures of your presenter's books.
2. Marketing must be free from advertising or promoting products for which your organization or presenter receive commercial support.
Presenters and organizers should feel free to let event attendees know more about their organizations, research, and areas of expertise. However they should avoid marketing products by offering discounts or advertising those products in communications about your event. For example, a presenter's book should not be sold as part of registration, or advertised in event emails or on the event landing page.
3. Marketing campaigns should refer back to your CE-Go generated landing page.
The CE-Go generated landing page contains board required information about your event. In your marketing campaigns, let prospective attendees know that CE credits will be offered, but refer them to your landing and registration page for more information regarding CE credits.
If you must include information about the types of CE credits offered in your marketing campaign, make sure to use the approval language as specified on your landing page.
